This album was recorded in Kalfarlien 18, an old house, incredible haven for madmen and lost souls, full of magical energy, old memories, strange objects… This is the residence of the Sundby in Bergen, Norway. Edvard Sundby is an unknown genius, a fantastic cellist, and a mystic in every way. His brother is a well-known jazz band drummer, with some experimental projects.
Axel Vildenes, frontman of ᴋᴀᴋᴋᴍᴀᴅᴅᴀꜰᴀᴋᴋᴀ, lives nearby and made an agreement to install the recording studio inside Edvard's house for the entire duration of the 𝘏𝘶𝘴 album recording.
I happened to live in that same house at that time. Once or twice a week, they would come to the house, and we used to hear the band as they were listening to specific parts of the song over and over again; as if they were trying to find the perfect recipe.
For me that time of my life was very important and that is why I have a special affection for this album.
