Artist Statement
I decided the album would be called What My Body Wants during the summer holidays. It felt like a good title because it evokes a feeling that runs through every song on the record; it connects me to how I feel (and how I’ve felt over the last few years), and therefore to all the meaning contained in the album.
Essentially, this record means I want to keep having fun making music. I want to keep writing and recording songs, and playing with people who inspire me and enrich my sound. The LP edition is being released with Hidden Track, and I would be thrilled to co-release the cassette with you – I want to support my local community!

After five years shaping a luminous pop sound with an indie sensibility, Carlota Flâneur returns with a new LP, What My Body Wants (Hidden Track Records, 2025). The album is an exercise in emotional exploration, full of color and surreal touches present throughout her work – from her 2020 debut EP Brains to the single Relate, co-written with Marta Knight and produced by Núria Graham.
Produced by Emili Bosch (b1n0), the record explores textures that expand Carlota’s sonic universe – more pop than ever, yet also more refined. The singles released in May and June hinted at the direction: Watery Eyes showcased meticulous, danceable pop; Acting Wisely confirmed her taste for melodic experimentation. Trust, released September 2, cemented the joyful and determined energy that flows throughout the album.
What My Body Wants presents a Carlota who embraces playfulness and steps away, if only briefly, from what reason dictates. Lively, bright, spontaneous, and lucid, she continues to define her artistic personality while embracing both her light and shadows. The autumn tour will take her to cities across Catalonia and to Madrid to present the album live.
Bio
Carlota Flâneur (Barcelona, 1997) emerged in 2020 with her debut EP Brains, standing out for her ability to combine bright melodies with emotionally open, unfiltered lyrics. With her first album Uncertainty (2022), produced by Ferran Palau, she built a warm, colorful musical universe full of sing-along choruses. In 2024 she released the single Relate, co-written with Marta Knight and produced by Núria Graham, blending drum machines and synth layers to unite their three voices. What My Body Wants confirms Carlota as an artist full of light and nuance.
