Cold hardcore noise punk from Leipzig
A flat taste in my mouth, stress-induced stomach pain, and the urgent need to give this shitty world a kick in the ass. Damn - twisted my foot doing it! Better to drop the new COLD SUMMER 7” on the turntable instead.
The guitar immediately shoves you down the basement stairs, the furious vocals hurl desperation and madness straight into your face, and you just know this is serious business. The no-frills drums and bone-dry bass drive the four songs with aggressive precision right to the edge.
This isn’t pure gloomy punk - infused with post-punk, hardcore, and metal influences, everything mutates into a refined kind of beast. Cold Summer call what they throw at your feet on “Altlasten” bad-weather punk. After the excellent demo tape on Kink Records / Jean-Claude Madame, this is the Leipzig crew’s next strike on Kink Records / It’s Eleven Records.
Captured with punch by Anton Hoyer in their own rehearsal space, mastered by North London Bomb Factory. The 7” is limited to 550 hand-numbered copies and comes in a slick riso-print cover.
